Elom

‘Elom’ is a stool made from 1mm thick steel sheets, which were cut using a metal laser-cutter. The perforation of the metal along strategically placed fold-lines allows the flat panels to be molded into shape by hand without the necessity for extra tools. Each leg is thus cut in one piece, folded and eventually connected to its neighbours using metal rivets. The stool is 45cm high and has a seating surface of 30cm x 30cm. ‘Elom’ was developed as a preparation for a course taught at the Braunschweig University of Art in 2017.
