_hive is a series of elements designed and produced for the German provider of collaborative navigation systems Graphmasters. The objects, which are displayed on various trade fairs and exhibitions, include a pavilion-like structure for meetings and discussions, an info-stand for promotional material and a number of mobile tables and chairs. The design, which is based on computational methods that slice the initial geometry and distribute spacers in between the layers, represents the dynamic appearance of the software company and is meant as an eyecatcher to draw potential customers. All objects are entirely parametrically designed, which allowed the complex geometry to be digitally fabricated from high-quality plywood using a CNC router by our partners at Digital Productions.
